History

The Faculty of Engineering was established in 1356 with the aim of creating a strong technical and engineering hub to educate and train young engineers and respond to the industrial needs of Khuzestan province and the country. This faculty consists of 7 educational groups in the fields of civil engineering, electricity, mechanics, materials, computer, architecture, and chemical engineering, which accept students in all three levels of bachelor's, master's, and doctorate. Currently, more than 3,000 students are studying in this faculty, of which 1,000 are in the master's degree, 170 are in the doctoral degree, and 2,000 are in the bachelor's degree.

During its lifetime, this faculty has gone through three different generations of educational and research activities in line with scientific and practical developments in the world. This important has included the first generation of the faculty with the aim of educational development and expansion of fields and degrees with a focus on strengthening undergraduate degrees and setting up postgraduate courses. The second generation of the faculty aims to develop fundamental and applied research activities in the form of guidance and counseling for postgraduate theses, publishing scientific articles in domestic and international journals, conducting research projects for various organizations, as well as holding and collaborating in national conferences and International in various branches of engineering. The third generation of the faculty, which we are currently in, is aimed at the expansion and promotion of demand-oriented and entrepreneurial research. In the third generation of the faculty, the development of postgraduate education and research of faculty members is planned and directed in relation to the adjacent industries and the current needs of the country. Therefore, in recent years, in addition to its educational and research mission, the technical and engineering faculty has seriously placed direct and continuous cooperation with the industry in the framework of its activities and has achieved valuable achievements in this regard.

In recent years, the faculty has developed significantly in terms of software and hardware facilities, and now it can be said that all workshops and specialized laboratories related to educational groups are up-to-date and equipped with extensive facilities. The specialized services of workshops and laboratories of the faculty, in addition to improving the quality of education and research of students and members of the faculty, can be provided to industries and large construction projects at the level of the province and the country.
