Industrial Electronics Lab
Objectives:
- Checking thyristor performance in AC and DC circuits
- Studying the behavior of the UJT transistor
- Using the UJT transistor to start the thyristor employing a pulse transformer in two modes of connecting the load to the power supply and connecting the load to the ground, and using an optocoupler
- Examining the practical circuits of Triac and Diac
- Investigating the performance of SCR and getting to know the effect of the firing angle and investigating the behavior of resistive and capacitive and self-loads in thyristor circuits.
- Investigating the effect of the firing angle on the output power, two-phase full-wave rectifier with resistive, capacitive and inductive loads and investigating the effect of the commutation diode on the two-phase full-wave rectifier
- Familiarity with fully controlled and semi-controlled thyristor bridge circuits with resistive, capacitive and inductive loads and investigating the effect of commutation on inductive load in semi-controlled bridge with commutation diode
- Acquaintance with the performance of DC to AC converter and comparing the effect of resistive, inductive and capacitive loads on this converter
- In all these steps, the observed waveforms are considered and investigated
