The Department of Electrical Engineering of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, with a history of about four decades, is the largest specialized group of electrical engineering in the southwest of the countryDuring its years of activity, this group has been the source of valuable services in the field of education and research and has covered an important part of the technical needs of various industries in Khuzestan province and neighboring provinces.

 

At present, the Department of Electrical Engineering of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz has 25 active faculty members, including

  • 5 Professors,
  • 6 Associate Professors,
  • 11 Assistant Professors
  • 3 Instructors,

and 2 retired faculty members.

 

Some of the honors and capabilities of the Department of Electrical Engineering of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz are:

  • being selected as the top educational group of the university in 2017 and 2020,
  • gaining the honor of being among the top 2%  of the world's most cited researchers based on the number of citations to research activities in 2019 by a faculty member of the group,
  • gaining the honor of the top researcher of Khuzestan province in 2017 and 2018 by two faculty members of the group,
  • achieving the second rank of university research in publishing ISI articles in 2016,
  • the selection of electrical engineering group as a research group of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz in 2016,
  • the honor of top researcher of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz from 2001 to 2019 by four faculty members,
  • the selection of three faculty members as best educational professors of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz in 2014, 2018 and 2021,
  • introduction of a book worthy of appreciation in the 31st book of the year of the Islamic Republic of Iran (2013),
  • introduction of the best book of the country's electricity industry in 2013,
  • introduction of the country's best professor in 2012,
  • first place in the National Movement Festival in 2012,
  • first place in the aerospace competition with the ghost bird (as a partner) in 2012,
  • successful holding of 6 national conferences in the years 2010 to 2020,
  • establishment of a specialized electrical journal named Journal of Applied Research in Electrical Engineering since 2018,
  • gaining the honor of top researcher in the Research and Technology Festival, Ministry of Science, Research and Technology by a faculty member of the group (2006),
  • writing and translating various books,
  • publishing numerous articles in the most prestigious international scientific journals and concluding industrial contracts with different industries.

Currently, nearly 650 students are studying day, night, campus, and international in four majors: power, electronics, telecommunications, and control in three undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs.
